Máquina abstracta
Esta publicación es un monográfico del proyecto "Máquina abstracta" de Andrés Pachón, producido gracias a la Beca Leonardo a investigadores y creadores culturales 2019 de la Fundación BBVA.
A través de un dispositivo interactivo, un atlas, una colección de imágenes y este libro, "Máquina abstracta" nos permite ver a través de los ojos de una Inteligencia Artificial que aprendió a reconocer y clasificar las imágenes de la Colección Digital de la Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York, documentos visuales datados entre los siglos XVI y XX.
El libro presenta una selección de aquellos fragmentos de imágenes que la Inteligencia Artificial relacionó con las diferentes categorías de la Colección. Se trata de los patrones que la máquina estableció durante su aprendizaje, los cuales nos permitirán visualizar el inconsciente de la Colección, los espacios latentes y liminales que propagaron un cierto imaginario.

This publication is a monographic book of Andrés Pachón's project "Máquina abstracta" (Abstract Machine), produced thanks to the 2019 Leonardo Grant for researchers and cultural creators from the BBVA Foundation.
Through an interactive device, an atlas, a collection of images and this book, "Máquina abstracta" proposes to see through the eyes of an Artificial Intelligence, which learned to see and classify the images of the Digital Collection of the New York Public Library, visual documents dating from the 16th to the 20th century.
The book presents a selection of fragments of the images that the Artificial Intelligence related to the different categories of the Collection. These are the patterns that the machine established throughout its learning, which will allow us to visualize the unconscious of the Collection, the latent and liminal spaces that spread a particular imaginary.
